Maya provides a unique lens to her treatment as a former Division 1 collegiate athlete. Maya’s lived experience drives her passion to empower individuals to work through transitions, self-esteem/identity issues, grief, depression, and anxiety. Maya has experience working with multiculturally diverse individuals (i.e. children, adolescents, young adults) and families, specializing with Transitional Age Youth. Her clinical experiences include: Clinician at Clarvida, Mental Health Specialist with Starview Behavioral Health, Social Work Intern at a New York City public high school (Urban Assembly Maker Academy), and a Care Coordinator Intern for National Association on Drug Abuse Problems (NADAP). Maya’s empathic nature guides her therapeutic process as she meets each individual where they’re at to work collaboratively. Maya utilizes a strengths-based approach, facilitating her clients to help discover their autonomy to feel empowered with their decision-making skills.
