About Me

Jasmin is bilingual in Tagalog and English and has extensive experience and training in working with underserved low-income individuals and families in community mental health clinics. She implements trauma-informed care in her practice, having worked with culturally-diverse clients with moderate to severe mental illnesses. She has worked with adolescents and their families, adults and older adults (65+) with various presenting issues, including behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, safety concerns, intergenerational trauma, grief and bereavement, familial issues, incarceration, substance use, relationship difficulties and life transitions. Her clinical experiences include: working for the San Diego County at CRF Nueva Vista Family Services and South Bay Guidance Center, where she gained training on how to thoroughly assess for safety and conduct risk assessments, utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and psychodynamic interventions. She processes a client’s past to help them tell their story, discuss present issues impacting their lives and speak about the future to create goals, integrating all three in order to create a toolbox of skills to help clients manage their symptoms and behaviors to achieve an overall increased sense of control and better wellbeing.
